Weathering steel water curtains are landscape water features constructed primarily of weathering steel (CORTEN steel) and integrated with a water circulation system. They utilize the unique rust-red texture of weathering steel to create a visual contrast of "hardness and softness," and "rust and clarity" with the flowing water, serving as both a spatial partition and a dynamic art installation. The water curtain forms a uniform waterfall-like flow through a top outlet channel, cascading along the steel plate surface or into the bottom pool, creating a tranquil yet vibrant landscape atmosphere.

Core Materials and Performance

Base Material Selection: The main structure uses weathering steel plates of grades such as Q235NH and CORTEN-A/B, with a common thickness of 2.0mm-3.0mm. It is recommended to use 304 stainless steel for the water tank and water-contacting components to prevent rust from polluting the water during prolonged immersion.

Weathering Mechanism: When weathering steel is exposed to the natural environment, a dense and stable rust-red oxide film naturally forms on its surface. This "rust skin" effectively prevents further corrosion, achieving "rust prevention with rust," eliminating the need for additional paint protection.

Durability advantages: Weathering steel has a lifespan more than 10 times that of ordinary low-carbon steel and 3-4 times longer than pre-coated steel. After a stable rust layer forms, it can maintain structural stability for more than 20 years in outdoor environments.
