Steel Tree Grate

Steel tree grates are grating structures that cover the soil surface of tree pits, primarily installed on sidewalks, plazas, or commercial districts. By providing a smooth, load-bearing surface, they solve the safety hazards (such as tripping hazards) and soil compaction problems associated with exposed tree pits in cities, while allowing rainwater and air to permeate to the roots. They are an important component of modern urban greening and street furniture.

Tree grate installation

Basic Preparation: Clear debris from the tree pit and ensure the ground is level. For areas with high load-bearing requirements, a reinforced concrete foundation must be poured.

Frame Installation: Place the prefabricated metal base frame (if applicable) into the tree pit and level and secure it. This prevents the grates from deforming and sinking under pressure.

Grate Installation: Carefully place the grate panels onto the frame, ensuring the pattern is aligned. For split designs, adjust the spacing between the center hole and the tree trunk.

Securing and Finishing: Secure the grates with bolts or locks to prevent theft or displacement. It is recommended that the surrounding paving be slightly higher than the grate by 1-2 cm to guide water flow into the tree pit.
