A Corten Steel Screen is an outdoor/indoor space partition made primarily of weathering steel (CORTEN steel) using processes such as laser cutting, engraving, and welding. It combines the industrial feel of weathering steel with modern design aesthetics, gradually forming a dense and stable rust-red oxide layer in the natural environment, providing both structural protection and a unique visual decorative effect.
Core Materials and Performance
Base Material Selection: Uses weathering steel plates of grades such as Q235NH and CORTEN-A/B. Some customized products also use 304/316 stainless steel to enhance corrosion resistance in specific environments.
Weathering Mechanism: When exposed to natural climate, the material's surface will spontaneously form a dense rust-red oxide film approximately 0.1-0.2mm thick. This "rust skin" effectively blocks further penetration by external corrosive media, achieving "rust prevention with rust," eliminating the need for an additional protective paint layer.
Physical properties: The yield strength and tensile strength are superior to ordinary carbon steel, and it has good wind pressure resistance and structural stability, making it suitable for long-term outdoor use.
